GEARS OF WAR

I hear there are some of you out there who still don't know what Gears of War is. Where have you been for the past few years, people? Ah well. Get a crash primer for this beautifully designed, addictively immersive game here and don't feel left out.

If you're someone who dismisses games completely as a fiction experience - well, suspend your prejudice for a while and try Gears.  Just take a good long look at the cinematics first - don't even play the game to start with, just treat it as a movie while you're getting to grips with it - and you'll see what I mean.  Games like Gears are the new face of storytelling.

The Gears universe upended me completely, and I'm a cynical old ratbag who takes some heavy-duty impressing. I fell in writerly love with the Gearsiverse and now I'm writing the script for the third game as well as the books and comics series.

Do I still detect some hesitation? Look, just do it, okay? Because I asked you nicely. You'll thank me for it. And I know some big guys with chainsaw rifles. No pressure.
