Don't just sit there - do something useful: support the BROKEN
COVENANT campaign to get a fair deal for our armed forces personnel.
And support Combat
Stress, the charity that helps PTSD sufferers. Because real
war isn't a video game.

NEWS - GEARS OF WAR
Yes, Gearheads, it's true.
The first Gears book,
GEARS OF WAR: THE PENDULUM WARS: THE BATTLE OF ASPHO FIELDS, is on sale on October 28, written by yours truly. (And yes, it's the same book listed as The Pendulum Wars on some sites. ) For the confused out there who seem to be baffled by the news release, it's set in the post-Emergence present day, with flashbacks to Marcus's (and Dom's) chequered past. Find out more at Comic-Con in San Diego, where I'll be on the Gears panel on Saturday July 26 with Epic design director Cliff Bleszinksi and comics writer Joshua Ortega.
Come on, how could I resist it? Dysfunctional yet likable young chaps in outrageous armour, outlandishly huge rifles, eccentric officers, hard-as-nails NCOs, grim politics? I make that Pimms o'clock!
(And the new Gears cover is gorgeous. I'll post it here when it's released. If Carvaggio wasn't a bit dead, he'd be eating his heart out.)
MORE STUFF:

Talking of lovable rogues in saucy armour, it's just a few weeks to
ORDER 66, book four in the Republic Commando series, out September 15. Stand by for a few surprises. And here's the spiffy new cover.
(Tiny spoiler to keep you going; the book's timeline extends into the Imperial era... )
I'm at Comic-Con in San Diego from July 24 - 27 (with a short signing tour afterwards) to pimp my new CLONE WARS book - and to talk Gears, of course. Dates for your diary:
July 24 - 27 - Comic-Con
Friday July 25:
11:00-12:00- signing, Del Rey,
booth #1128
12:25-1:15, room 7AB: Clone Wars panel
Saturday July 26:
11:00: signing at Del Rey booth #1128,
3:30pm: Gears of War panel, room 6B.
I'll be hanging out intermittently at the Del Rey booth throughout the con, so swing by and say hello - chances are that you'll catch me there.
Rest of the tour:
July 28, TEMPE, AZ - Changing Hands, 7pm
July 29, DALLAS -Borders, Greenville Ave., 7pm
July 30, DECATUR, GA, - Wordsmiths Books, 7.30pm
July 31, NEW YORK - Borders, Columbus Circle NYC, 7.30pm
I'm writing three of the new five-book Star Wars series for adults based on the Clone Wars movie and TV show, which kicks off on July 26 with CLONE WARS. My good buddy Karen Miller is writing the other two novels. Obviously, being adult books, they won't be the same as the movie or the series, which is aimed at younger fans. So prep yourselves for a gritty new look at the Clone Wars.
