This is a collection of 13 short stories, both science fiction and fantasy, that I wrote between 1998 and 2002. They were published in Asimov's, Realms of Fantasy, and other magazines between 1999 and 2003. (See
here for the background.) Why thirteen? Well, I couldn't find the files for the rest, to be honest. And obviously the franchise shorts aren't my copyright to re-print.
But I wouldn't want to, because VIEW OF A REMOTE COUNTRY is a reminder of the directions I could have taken before I decided to settle on multiple tight-third-person point-of-view realism, with blokes behaving badly, women behaving even worse, and cussing. VIEW OF A REMOTE COUNTRY is available in trade paperback, Kindle, and e-pub editions. Almost all of the stories were written at Clarion in 2000 or the One Step Beyond workshop in 1998. You know me: waste not, want not. If I write it, I sell it. (Provided I can find the document, of course... )
Available in Kindle, hardcover, and paperback from Amazon, and hardcover and paperback to order from other bookstores.
